How to maximize the points for your airline Frequent flyer Programme ?

Registration is Free :

Most the airlines are offering Frequent flyer programme, Registration for free. So ensure to register it, no matter which country you’re in. If its not free, just wait and watch the airlines websites specially during the holidays time i.e. Christmas as they do offer free membership enrolment twice a year.

Partner Airline :

Most the airlines have an affiliation with partner airline where you can boost more miles, even if you are not travelling with the airline, that you have your membership number with. For example, If you are a member of Qantas airline, you can earn the points of their member airline i.e. Emirates, Cathay Pacific, Malaysian Airline etc.

Non-airline partner : ( hotels, restaurants, shopping )

Majority of the airlines have the non-airline partner meaning, even if you’re not flying however staying in one of the hotels, can earn the points towards when staying or vv. For example, flying with Latam Airlines or Finnair can earn your the Accor points. or another example of shopping on Ebay, can earn you points with Velocity frequent flyer of Virgin Australia.

Bonus Points :

On a regular basis ( twice a year, at least ) airlines offers the bonus points to increase the sale and to offer more to their loyal frequent flyer members., This could be the best time for the points seeker to earn more points. Keep an eye on your email or check out on Travel Crafters social media, as we do regular shout-outs if any of the promotions are out, so you don’t miss out..

Credit Cards :

How can we forget the best way to boost your frequent flyer programme, is by signing up with for a new credit card and be eligible for free bonus points, and also on your regular spend on groceries, fuel, shopping and all regular monthly spend.

Transfer from other Frequent Flyer Programme :

Another way to boost your frequent flyer points is to transfer your accumulated points from non-regular airlines to your primary airlines and keep earning at one place. Not only this will save you the hassle of managing multiple frequent flyer accounts, however the more closer you will get to earn the required tier of status credits.

Family Pooling / Family Transfers :

Another amazing way to earn more points to your frequent flyer account is to nominate for Family pooling. In simple terms, Family pooling allows you to accumulate the points of the traveler of your family member who is not a regular traveler, and you’ll earn the points whenever they travel. Also the same way you can transfer the points from your family members frequent flyer account to yours ( of course, subject to their approval )

Business Membership ( ABN Holders ) :

I personally like this one, as not only you will earn the membership points on your frequent flyer, but your nominated business will also earn the points .. meaning double points* for any single trip you’ve travelled , as long as you’ve done the registration correct way. Also, the business can get the frequent flyer credit cards for their regular spends for business expense, which will boost up their points bank with a lightning speed.
