Arrive in Johannesburg, a gold mining town, which developed into a colossal industry for South Africa, often called "Gauteng - the City of Gold." Today, Jo'burg (its more popular name) is the largest city in South Africa by population, and also the wealthiest province. The rest of the day is at leisure, to rest, relax and acclimate to your new time zone
Overnight: Johannesburg
After a good night's rest, join an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager to discuss the wonderful adventure that awaits you in Southern Africa. Return to the airport for the flight to Zambia. Here, you'll experience the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls, one of the greatest natural wonders of the world, with its astounding vistas. These impressive falls are over a mile wide and 351 feet high, making them wider and higher than Niagara Falls. Upon arrival, you'll be met by your local guide and transferred to your hotel. Celebrate your arrival with a delightful sundowner cruise as you sail on the mighty Zambezi River. Look for hippos, elephants, and buffalo that come to drink at the end of the day at the water's edge. Dinner together is at the hotel

This morning's guided tour of Victoria Falls in both Zambia and Zimbabwe, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, begins with a walking safari through the exquisite rainforest; view the cataracts, and a wide variety of wildlife, colorful birds and plants. Linger at the statue of David Livingstone, the first missionary explorer to discover the Falls in 1855 and named them after Queen Victoria. Afternoon is at leisure. Tonight, board a magnificently restored steam train for a journey along one of the most historic railway lines in Africa. Savor a gourmet dinner in the elegant dining carriage before returning to your hotel

Travel to dazzling Chobe National Park in Botswana, arriving in time for lunch. The first glimpse of the river in the sandy terrain is always astonishing. Undoubtedly, one of Africa's most beautiful rivers, the Chobe supports a diversity and concentration of wildlife that is unparalleled anywhere else in the country. The region has the largest concentration of elephants in Africa with a population reaching over 60,000. Settle into your new surroundings and get ready for this afternoon's adventure. Board a motorized boat for your sunset safari cruise where you will glide through the water searching for hippos, buffalo, antelope and more. Return to the lodge in time for dinner

Set out on a game drive early in the morning when the sun rises and you can see the animals searching for their breakfast. Navigate in open safari vehicles in search of lions, warthogs, buffalo, giraffe and more. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation before this afternoon's game drive. You will watch the wildlife from up-close including a spectacular array of birds. There are over 460 different bird species in the park, making Chobe one of Africa's premier venues for bird watching. The scenery changes today. Transfer to the airport in Kasane to board a light aircraft flight (4 or 5 seat plane) to the lush, green Okavango Delta, a unique wildlife location. It is the world's largest inland delta with great concentration of animals and birds. A World Heritage Site, the Okavango is a vast and virtually untouched freshwater wetland at the heart of Botswana's arid Kalahari Desert with an abundance of wildlife within a setting of amazing beauty. Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge. On the afternoon safari cruise, you'll see some of the finest game viewing in the region - lookout for ostrich, antelope, wildebeests along with hippos and crocodiles along the water's edge, as well as hundreds of bird species. Return in time for dinner at your camp

Game activities in the morning and afternoon include leisurely cruises in local mokoros (canoes) or motorized boats, guided nature walks along the river and fishing expeditions. Tomorrow, depart the Okavango so cherish the last moments of your safari adventure in Southern Africa

Following breakfast at the lodge, board a light aircraft flight (4 or 5 seat plane) to Maun where you will board your flight to Cape Town, undeniably one of the most beautiful cities in the world. As you transfer to your hotel, you'll see the towering symbol of the city - Table Mountain. The rest of the evening is at leisure in this magnificent seaside city. Tonight, there is so much to see and do at the bustling waterfront including a variety of restaurants and cafes

Today, explore the gorgeous city of Cape Town. The highlight is an ascent to the top of magnificent Table Mountain. Travel by aerial cable car* (weather permitting) and see the astonishing panoramic views of the city and beaches below as you climb high into the clouds. On a clear day, it's often possible to see Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned and the melding of the oceans at Cape Point. Visit the Milnerton Lighthouse before descending from the plateau. Stop to admire distinctive bead-work designs made by local artists before exploring the historic Bo-Kaap area. Enjoy a unique interaction and experience the cultural diversity of the Cape Malay community, descendants of the original Malay slaves. Learn about their history and preservation of their traditions in Africa. Savor a home-cooked lunch at the home of your gracious host family, a highlight of the tour. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore Cape Town on your own. See the secluded coves, pristine beaches, or visit the world-famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, with its remarkable floral displays

A wonderful day awaits you in South Africa's picturesque winelands. Drive through South Africa's fertile valleys, prized for their renowned vintages. You'll travel along the principal wine route to Paarl, Franschhoek, and Stellenbosch with tastings at some of the excellent vineyards along the way. In Franschhoek board the hop-on-hop-off tram to experience a unique and leisurely way to see the Franschhoek Valley, stopping in at some of South Africa’s oldest and most distinguished wine estates. After lunch at a charming restaurant, on to another wonderful wine tasting. Lastly, travel to Stellenbosch, South Africa's second oldest town and the historic heart of the country's wine region to see the fascinating variety of Cape Dutch architecture before returning to Cape Town. Evening is at leisure

Depart on a half day Cape Peninsula Tour. Drive to Cape Point at the southwestern tip of the Cape Peninsula, passing steep mountains, secluded coves, and sweeping beaches en route. After a stop at the fishing village of Hout Bay, one of Cape Town's best kept secrets, continue to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, comprising over 17,300 acres of indigenous flora and fauna, where you may see baboons by the roadside, rheboks, cape mountain zebras, bonteboks, and the elusive eland. The native plant life, known as fynbos, forms one of only six floral kingdoms in the world. Following the coastline along False Bay, return to Cape Town by way of Simon's Town. Here, visit the penguin colonies at Boulders Beach, and continue with a scenic drive over Muizenberg Mountain. Tonight, bid farewell to your newfound friends at the Farewell Dinner.
